Providers Advisory Committee in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Ordinance 25-1999;

The EMS Battalion Chief is assigned to AFR Administration to supervise, plan, assign, direct and coordinate both emergency and nonemergency activities for the EMS Division. Routine activities include active participation in the development of EMS delivery systems provided by Albuquerque Fire Rescue. Negotiating, writing, and editing EMS Contracts. Adjusting and updating Telestaff Workforce for subordinates within the EMS Division. Purchasing of EMS Medications, Supplies, and Equipment. Management of EMS Division personnel and functions to include Pharmacy, Quality Assurance Office, Records Management, EMS Training and Community Paramedic (HEART) Programs. Manage policy and procedural development regarding EMS. Attendance and participation at EMS specific agency meetings-National, State, County, and Local. Implementation of EMS policies and procedures. Enforcement of New Mexico (NM) Department of Health (DOH) regulations, Albuquerque/Bernalillo County (ABC) EMS Protocols, and AFD EMS standard operating guidelines (SOG). Perform critical functions as part of the Incident Support Team. Perform critical functions as part of the Albuquerque Regional Coalition for Healthcare Preparedness (ARCH-P). Respond to emergency incidents as directed. Duties as assigned per the Assistant Chief of EMS or Fire Chief.
