Advisory Board in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Ordinance 10-6-1.

Jennifer Black moved to Albuquerque in 2018 following retirement from a long career in nonprofit and library management. She quickly became engaged in the community through her service on the League of Women Voters of Central New Mexico Board of Directors and brings with her extensive experience in public library communications, programming, and community partnerships. With her professional background, Ms. Black is well positioned to support the Albuquerque Public Library system in advancing its mission of education, enrichment, and community connection.
Prior to relocating, Ms. Black served ten years as Director of Communications for the Glenview Public Library in Illinois, where her work was formally recognized by the Board of Trustees for significantly elevating the library's community presence, programming, and outreach. Her leadership in communications, marketing, and cultural enrichment initiatives helped strengthen community relationships and foster engagement. She looks forward to bringing this expertise and passion for public libraries to the Albuquerque Library Advisory Board.
A resident of Council District 2, Ms. Black will represent that district on the board; her first term will expire on July 31, 2028.
