Veterans and Military Affairs Advisory Board in accordance with the City of Albuquerque

Resolution R-01-325, Enactment No. R-2001-141.

Ms. Lindsey Kay                                                                   September 2, 2024 Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110  As a nonprofit entrepreneur, Lindsey Kay founded her first nonprofit organization in 2010 at the age of 24. Since that time she has served as CEO of Paws and Stripes, a program that trains shelter dogs as service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD and brain injuries. Extensive experience in veterinary clinics taught Lindsey the deep healing power of rescue dogs which translated into a one-of-a-kind curriculum, utilizing mental health treatment plans, education, and case management to transform the lives of veterans and shelter dogs. Lindsey has seen hundreds of individuals, both veterans and their family members, receive services from Paws and Stripes.  Lindsey has received numerous recognitions including; The 2013 Association of Fundraising Professionals' Young Nonprofit Professional of the Year Award, the 2015 Forty Under 40 (Under 30), Recipient of the 2015 local Red Cross Real Heroes Award, 2018's C-Suite Award for Nonprofit CEO, and Recognized as Glamour Magazine's 2015 New Mexico Hometown Hero.  A resident of District 7, Ms. Kay will serve as an At Large member of the Board. Her first term will expire September 2, 2024.
