I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the

Indicators Progress Commission in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Resolution 2-1-13.

Krebs                                                                         January 31, 2024 4534 Banff Drive NE Albuquerque, NM 87111   Professor Timothy Krebs earned his Ph.D. in Political Science in 1997 from Loyola University Chicago. Before arriving at UNM in 2002, he taught at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Illinois Wesleyan University. He serves department chair in Political Science. He teaches courses in American politics with a specialization in urban politics, public policy, and campaigns and elections. His research is in the area of urban elections and campaigns and urban policy. At present he is studying campaign rhetoric in U.S. mayoral campaigns with a specific focus on the role of deracialized speech, as well as the emergence of female candidates in local elections. His articles have appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, Political Research Quarterly, American Politics Research, Social Science Quarterly, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Urban Affairs Review, Public Administration Review and Journal of Urban Affairs. He has also authored or co-authored chapters on city councils, urban elections and campaigns, and the link between urban elections responsiveness in edited volumes. In addition to teaching and research Dr. Krebs has served as graduate advisor in political science and book review editor of Urban Affairs Review, the premier journal of urban politics and policy research. He would bring an interest in the city of Albuquerque, research and writing skills, and a desire to serve to the Indicators Progress Commission.   A resident of Council District 8, Dr. Krebs will fill a vacant, at-large position on the Board and his first term will expire January 31, 2024.
