APPOINTEE NAME                                                                TERM                                                                      Mr. Grant W. Leigh                                                                             May 1, 2024 8609 La Sala Grande NE Albuquerque, NM 87111  Grant Leigh is a 15-year-old freshman in the pre- International Baccalaureate program at Sandia High School. In addition to focusing on academics, Grant runs cross country and track with the Sandia Matadors teams. He is active in the Albuquerque community through a number of local organizations. He is a long-time participant in STEM programs at Explora and currently serves on Explora's Teen Advisory Group, which provides the organization's leadership feedback on the development of X Studio, their new STEM workforce development center for teens. Grant also has been involved with the organization, Rock 101, for several years and has worked as a junior camp counselor, assisting younger students with their music lessons. Grant plays bass guitar in the local band, Sunburnt. They've enjoyed playing events like the grand opening of the new Flying Star in Nob Hill and "Roust the House" at the Outpost. Grant would bring his experience as a life-long Albuquerque resident, a student at three very different local schools (Alice King Community School, Bosque School, and Sandia High School), and an active community member to the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council. He also follows through on the commitments he makes and has good time management, so he will be an active participant of the Council.  A resident of Council District 7, Mr. Leigh will fill an At-Large vacancy on the board and his first term will expire May 1, 2024.
