Commission on American Indian and Alaska Native Affairs in accordance with the City

Albuquerque Ordinance 2-6-6-1.

 Kim Benally is the Director of Programs and Development at the National Indian Youth Council based in Albuquerque, NM. In this capacity, Kim oversees the training and employment services for American Indians/Alaska Natives and develops organizational capacity to increase services for New Mexico's urban Native community. Kim has over 15 years of experience working with tribal governments, native non-profits, and higher education institutions. Ms. Benally holds a Masters of Public Administration with a Tribal Governance concentration from The Evergreen State College and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Native American Leadership in Education from the University of New Mexico. Kim is a citizen of the Navajo Nation originally from Hogback, NM, but has been living in Albuquerque, NM for 6 years.  A resident of District 2, Ms. Benally will serve as the Workforce/Employment Representative on the Board and her first term will expire October 1, 2023.
