I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the Greater

Albuquerque Bicycling Advisory Committee in accordance with the City of Albuquerque

Ordinance 14-13-3-6.

Mr. Daniel Jensen                                                                             April 1, 2023 7 Arco Court NW Albuquerque, NM 87120-1801  Mr. Jensen retired to Albuquerque from Seattle, Washington in 2018, after a long career as an IT professional focused on accounting information systems. His professional experience includes managing complex software implementations and designing various aspects of accounting systems. He is proficient in various software products including the Microsoft Office suite, the SQL database language and graphic visualization software such as Tableau. An avid road bicyclist, he is experienced riding in rural and urban environments on all types of roads and trails as a commuter and recreational cyclist. During his time in Seattle, he was a member of the Seattle International Randonneurs which promotes the sport of long distance, non-competitive cycling. He was also a member of the Cascade Bike Club. Since retiring to Albuquerque he has been exploring the city and nearby surrounding areas by bike. He is familiar with many strategies employed in Seattle to make streets more hospitable to cyclists and pedestrians. Although the urban character of Seattle is different from Albuquerque in that it is more densely developed, this experience should be helpful in the work to improve the climate for cycling here. His past volunteer experience includes being president of the West Seattle High School PTSA, various ministries at his church. He is currently president of the La Luz Landowners Association HOA.  A resident of Council District 1, Mr. Jensen will fill a vacant position as the North  West representative on the Committee.
