I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the

Public Safety Tax Advisory Board in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Ordinance

2-6-11.

Mr. Manilal (Manu) Patel holds a Master of Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Mexico since 1980.  The majority of his business experience is financial accounting, program and compliance auditing of state and local governmental entities.   He has evaluated and audited New Mexico Public Safety related agencies including DPS, Local Law Enforcement Agencies and state and federal grants, Department of Correction, and Judicial entities.  As Deputy Director for Program Evaluations (Performance Audits) at the New Mexico Legislative Finance Committee (LFC) he worked closely financial analysts to review key program performance measures as apart of budgetary considerations and to make final recommendations to LFC.  His  educational and business experience make Mr. Patel uniquely qualified to serve on the Public Safety Tax Advisory Board to ensure taxpayers funds are budgeted and expended in accordance with the applicable City of Albuquerque Ordinances (2-6-11, Section 4-3-8-1 - 1994, and any other applicable City of Albuquerque policies. 

 

A resident of Council District 2, Mr. Patel will fill a vacancy and serve as the EMS/Finance Member.  His first term will expire October 12, 2022.
