RESOLUTION

Establishing A Process To Gather And Include Neighborhood Input In The Development Of The Capital Improvement Program Of The City Of Albuquerque Through Community Planning Area Assessments And Community Town Hall Meetings (Borrego)

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City of Albuquerque that the Capital Improvement Program supports the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Comprehensive Plan and adopted growth policies for urban development and conservation; and
WHEREAS, in the past, the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) planning process included the solicitation of input from the community for area specific capital priorities through a series of neighborhood meetings and town halls; and this input was considered during the development of the program through a collaborative effort between the City Council and Mayoral Administration; and
WHEREAS, the Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO) requires that the City conduct Community Planning Area (CPA) Assessments for analysis and long-range planning within each CPA established by the Albuquerque/ Bernalillo County Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council relies on input from its constituents to assist in the prioritization of capital projects within Council Districts; and
WHEREAS, the City's Capital Improvements Ordinance requires updates to reflect recent legislative changes to the City's land use regulations, such as the IDO, as well as other legislative and administrative changes.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
SECTION 1. The preliminary planning process for the upcoming 2021 Capital Improvements Program shall include scheduled community town hall meetings in each Council district, for the purpose of gathering information on specific community capital needs and priori...
