APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDS BASED ON THE ATTACHED APPLICATIONS FOR FEDERAL AND STATE ASSISTANCE FOR THE SENIOR CORPS PROGRAMS INCLUDING THE FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM (FGP), THE RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP), AND THE SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM (SCP), WITH THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE (CNCS) AND THE NEW MEXICO AGING AND LONG TERM SERVICES DEPARTMENT (ALTSD) AND PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF SENIOR AFFAIRS IN FISCAL YEAR 2020.
WHEREAS, the 2010 census figures show that there are 207,179 persons age 50 years and over living in Bernalillo County which represents 18% of the County's population; and
WHEREAS, the Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs has developed a coordinated delivery system of services that meets the needs of senior citizens of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County; and
WHEREAS, the City has applied for Federal assistance from the Corporation for National and Community Service for funds in the amount of $318,401 of which $27,007 will be allocated to indirect overhead, and has applied for State assistance from the New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services Department for funds in the amount of $261,398 of which $583 will be allocated to indirect overhead, for the Department of Senior Aff...
