APPROVING THE ATTACHED GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE FY2018 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS PUBLIC SECTOR TRAINING AND PLANNING GRANT WITH THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION TO ALBUQUERQUE FIRE RESCUE IN FISCAL YEAR 2019.

                     WHEREAS, the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is distributing funds to eligible entities; and

WHEREAS, Albuquerque Fire Rescue will use this grant to attend the IAFC International Hazmat Conference; and

WHEREAS, grant funds in the amount of $2,040 for this purpose are available to the City of Albuquerque from the FY18 Hazardous Materials Public Sector Training and Planning Grant; and

WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque desires to accept these funds, which require a $510 cash match and is available in the General Fund.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:

                     Section 1.                     That the application with the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management in the amount of $2,040 in Federal Funds is hereby approved, and its acceptance and filing with the appropriate official or office is and in all respects approved.

                     Section 2.                     That funds in the amount of $2,550, consisting of $2,040 in federal monies from the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and $510 cash match from the General Fund Transfer to Operating Grants Fund (265) program in the General Fund (110), are hereby appropriated to Albuquerque Fire Rescue in the Operating Grant Fund 265 for Fiscal Year 2019.
