APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE ATTACHED U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (SAMHSA) GRANT AWARDS FOR ASSISTED OUTPATIENT TREATMENT AND PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES, BEGINNING IN FISCAL YEAR 2019.
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque has as a goal to ensure people of all ages have the opportunity to participate in the community and economy and are well sheltered, safe, healthy and educated; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque applied for an Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) project grant funds in 2016 from SAMHSA to assist in ensuring it's residents are safe and healthy; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque was recommended to receive these project grant funds from SAMHSA in September 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque desires to receive these funds in order to provide Assisted Outpatient Treatment services and coordination of opioid overdose prevention and outreach efforts.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1. That the attached grant agreements for Assisted Outpatient Treatment from the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Agency, in the amount of $3,777,929 are approved and its acceptance and filing with the appropriate official of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is in all respects approved.
