AMENDING C/S R-18-18, AS AMENDED BY R-18-56, TO EXTEND THE DEADLINE FOR A COMMITTEE OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ENTITIES TO CONDUCT AN ANALYSIS OF THE 2018 INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE WITH INTENTIONS TO REPLACE THE CURRENTLY ADOPTED 2009 ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE.
WHEREAS, C/S R-18-18, adopted on June 4, 2018, called for the creation of a committee to analyze the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) against the 2015 version of the IECC and the City's currently adopted 2009 version of the IECC; and
WHEREAS, C/S R-18-18 established a deadline of three months from the date of adoption for the committee to complete the analysis; and
WHEREAS, R-18-56 acknowledged the intention for Council Services to engage with a professional consultant to provide a detailed analysis to the committee for their review to inform their recommendations to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, R-18-56 therefor extended the original deadline to December 4, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the committee is scheduled to have their first meeting to discuss the analysis completed by the professional consultant on December 12, 2018; and
WHEREAS, additional time to review the various codes is required to formulate a recommendation to the City Council is required.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
That Section 3 of C/S R-18-18 is hereby amended to extend the timeframe to April 1, 2019.
