Mayor's Appointment of Mr. Mason L. Cannon to the Youth Advisory Council

I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the Youth
Advisory Council in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Ordinance 2-6-7-1.

Mr. Cannon is a sophomore at Albuquerque High School and has lived in Albuquerque for the majority of his life. He is an avid reader and loves listening to music, from rap to indie rock. He is very academically motivated and strives for excellence in school and in his extracurricular activities. He participates in Mock Trials (2018 state competitor,) Model UN, piano, viola, cross country, and swimming. Recently he has been very involved in civic awareness, working at his school through the Student Peace Organization and with some fellow students to push for school safety and voter registration. He is also a content creator for Qworks, a project built on increasing civic participation by citizens in Albuquerque.
Mr. Cannon will fill an At Large vacancy on the board and his first term will expire May 1, 2021.
