RESOLUTION

CONCERNING THE APPOINTMENT OF PRECINCT BOARDS FOR EACH POLLING PLACE FOR THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO ON TUESDAY, THE SIXTH DAY OF OCTOBER 2015.

                     WHEREAS, a regular municipal election is required to be held in the City of Albuquerque on Tuesday the 6th day of October 2015, pursuant to City Charter Article II, section 1, at which election the offices of Mayor and City Councilor for Districts 2, 4, 6, and 8 will be filled; and

                     WHEREAS, The City Council passed R-15-218, an election resolution establishing the regular municipal election, to be held on October 6, 2015; and

                     WHEREAS, The City Council is required by State law, Section 3-8-19 NMSA 1978, to appoint a precinct board for each polling place for the October 6, 2015 election and post the list of precinct boards in the Office of the City Clerk.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:

Section 1.  The City Council hereby designates the precinct board members identified in Exhibit “A”, attached hereto, and appoints each person identified as a precinct board member for the regular municipal election to be held on October 6, 2015.

Section 2.  SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.  If any section, paragraph, sentence, word, or phrase of this resolution is for any reason held to be invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this resolution.  The Council hereby declares that it would have passed this resolution and each section, paragraph, sentence, word or phrase thereof irrespective of any provision being declared unconstitutional or otherwise invalid.
