URGING THE GOVERNOR OF NEW MEXICO AND THE NEW MEXICO STATE LEGISLATURE TO CONVENE A SPECIAL SESSION OF THE 52nd NEW MEXICO LEGISLATURE TO ADOPT A CAPITAL OUTLAY BILL.
WHEREAS, The Regular Session of the 52nd Legislature concluded before Senate Bill 159, "Severance Tax Bond Projects" was adopted; and
WHEREAS, The bond package proposed in Senate Bill 159 would provide funding to over 380 projects to agencies within Bernalillo County including, the Albuquerque Public Schools, Bernalillo County, Charter Schools, the City of Albuquerque, the Museum of Natural History, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, the New Mexico State Fair, the Town of Los Ranchos De Albuquerque and the University of New Mexico; and
WHEREAS, Over $6,000,000 of these bonds would supplement Capital Projects for the City of Albuquerque, that benefit neighborhoods, libraries, community centers, roadways, and parks located in legislative districts throughout the City.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1.  That the City of Albuquerque urges the Governor of New Mexico and the New Mexico State Legislators to convene a special session of the 52nd New Mexico Legislature for the purpose of passing a statewide Capital Outlay Bill.
