AMENDING RESOLUTION R-13-189 (ENACTMENT NO. R-2013-054) WHICH DECLARED THE FOURTH SATURDAY IN JUNE "ALBUQUERQUE ADOPTION APPRECIATION DAY" TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR THE FAMILIES OF CHILDREN YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT (CYFD) ADOPTIONS AND FOR FAMILIES THAT ADOPT CHILDREN ON NATIONAL ADOPTION DAY.
WHEREAS, Resolution R-13-189 (Enactment No. R-2013-054) was approved by the City Council on June 17, 2013, and declared the fourth Saturday in June "Albuquerque Adoption Appreciation Day" to show support for the families of children adopted in Bernalillo County through the Children Youth and Families Department (CYFD) and those adopted on National Adoption Day; and provided these adoptive families with annual passes to the Albuquerque Biopark and Explora Museum; and
WHEREAS, Resolution R-13-189 required that the adoptive families claim the annual Biopark and Explora passes within 60 days of the final adoption date; and
WHEREAS, The City would like to extend the annual Biopark and Explora passes to all adoptive families in Bernalillo County, regardless of adoption date.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1. Section 3 of Resolution R-13-189 is amended as follows: "Section 3. The City shall provide annual passes to the Zoo, Biopark, and Explora to families of children who are adopted or placed into foster care in Bernalillo County, whether or not they were private adoptions, or CYFD adoptions or plac...
