Establishing Weight Restrictions On Fortuna Avenue Northwest Between 76th Street And 900 Feet West Of 64th Street Northwest (Sanchez)

ESTABLISHING WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS ON FORTUNA AVENUE NORTH WEST BETWEEN 76^th STREET AND 900 FEET WEST OF 64^th STREET NORTHWEST.

      WHEREAS, the single family dwelling residential subdivisions of Cedar Ridge Estates and West Mesa Manor abut Fortuna Avenue Northwest between 76th Street Northwest and a location 900 feet west of 64^th Street Northwest; and

      WHEREAS, Cedar Ridge Estates and the West Manor subdivisions are abutted by the Meridian Business Park and the Atrisco Business Park Units Two and Four and  within these business parks are truck terminals and warehouses.  These facilities generate a significant number of truck trips onto Fortuna Avenue throughout the day and night; and

      WHEREAS, the residents in Cedar Ridge and West Mesa Manor are experiencing nuisance noise from the passing trucks and the weight and movement of these vehicles is shaking dwellings in these neighborhoods.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:

      Section 1. Fortuna Avenue Northwest between 76^th  Street Northwest and a location approximately 900 feet west of 64^th Street Northwest is restricted to vehicles of a gross maximum weight of 5000 pounds or less, except if the destination of such vehicles is located within the Cedar Ridge or West Mesa Manor subdivisions.
