Appropriating And Adjusting Funds For Operating The Government Of The City Of Albuquerque For Fiscal Year 2012 (Lewis, Sanchez)

APPROPRIATING AND ADJUSTING FUNDS FOR OPERATING THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2012.
WHEREAS, recurring appropriations for average fuel costs of $3.25 per gallon have been approved by the Council for Fiscal Year 2012; and
WHEREAS, the City has since “hedged” its exposure to escalating fuel prices by negotiating standard International Securities Dealer Association Agreements with parties that have submitted bids; and
WHEREAS, those agreements have guaranteed the City an average fuel price of under $2.95 per gallon; and
WHEREAS, the City and Bernalillo County have agreed to turn over operation of Fire Station 29 to the County at the end of Calendar Year 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Albuquerque Fire Department has expressed a need to preserve the 15 positions from Station 29 and re-deploy them to fill service gaps to include a ladder unit in the northwestern part of Albuquerque.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1. That the following amounts are hereby appropriated to the following program strategies for operating City government during Fiscal Year 2012:
